A design brief was given for a 4 line LCD display showing the times of the next departures for nearby buses, to be installed in each new home on the Dartford Park housing development. However, this was recognised as a unique opportunity, so a proposal was given to the customer to develop a full colour touch-screen making richer information content available to the user. The objective was to create a hub for public transport and other information, typically installed in the kitchen where its content was most likely to be accessed. 

The project included development of the device hardware, software and information system along with design of the data network. The system was well received by users and further discussions with the development architect, Wayne Hemmingway, have paved the way forward to use the system to further enhance the local community.
